Things to do in Camden During the Day
Go Shopping in Camden’s Famous Markets
One of the best things to do in Camden during the day is to visit Camden Market. You cannot visit Camden Town London without visiting Camden Market. It is a magical place to visit, especially during Christmas.
Today, after a humble beginning as a small Saturday market in Camden, London, Camden market has more than 1,000 shops, stalls, cafes, and bars.
There was a famous advert some years ago that said ‘if we don’t sell it then you don’t need it’, and that is true with Camden Market. The popular Camden Market sells everything you could possibly need, want, or think you don’t need but buy it anyway.
Camden Market is not just one market, it is a series of markets that includes Camden Lock Village, The Stables Market, Buck Street Village, and Inverness Street Market. All of the markets that create Camden Market are within a few minutes’ walk of each other.
One of the good things about Camden Market is it’s open seven days a week.
How old is Camden Market London?
It is amazing to think that today, Camden Market has over 1,000 shops, stalls, cafes, and bars, but started with just 16 market traders that sold arts and crafts, antiques, and jewellery.
Camden Market, London opened in March 1974 as a new Saturday Market. After more than 500 million in 2015, it has become one of Camden Town’s most visited attractions.
A lot of people visit Camden just for its unique shopping. You could easily spend a whole day in Camden Market and its many cafes looking for bargains and eating great food.
