Manchester is not just a good place to live it is a great place to live. More people are moving to different areas of Manchester due to how popular it is. Over the years there has been a huge investment and has now become known as one of the most exciting and vibrant places to live in the United Kingdom. Famous for its music scene, nightlife, and culture, what is there not to like about Manchester?

It’s not just for the culture and the music scene that people move to Manchester, it is also about the lower cost of living. According to a recent report, it is 32% cheaper to live in Manchester than in London. That is why more companies are moving to Manchester.

The Best Places To Live In Manchester are:

Chorlton

best area in manchester

Chorlton is a great place to live. It has a great vibe and was once famous for Cosgrove Studios who made Chorlton and The Wheelies, it has now become one of Manchester’s best places to live. It is one of the most funkiest suburbs that is home and has been home to some famous people.

The Bee Gees spent nearly eight years of their childhood living at 51, Keppel Road, Chorlton. George Best also spent ten years living in Chorlton and they were not the only famous people who live in Chorlton. Actress Doris Speed lived in Sibson Road, and Damon Gough, known as Badly Drawn Boy lived in Chorlton.

Chorlton has some of Manchester’s best restaurants and some great schools. There are a lot of great pubs in Chorlton, and lots to do in the evenings. So, it’s no wonder why we have chosen Chorlton as the best place to live in Manchester.

Altrincham

Living in Manchester has so much to offer, and next on our list of the best places in Manchester to live is Altrincham. For those living in Altrincham, it’s no surprise that it has come second.

Altrincham is an amazing place to live. It has always been a wealthy place to live. I must be honest; Altrincham is not a cheap place to buy a property. Some properties cost over £750,000 but it does offer a lot.

A lot of people choose to live in Altrincham for education which includes Altrincham Grammar School. Others choose Altrincham to live in for its transport links into the city centre of Manchester and airport links. But my favourite reason to live in Altrincham is for the shopping, the restaurants, and the great pubs it has to offer. Altrincham really does come alive at night.

If you are looking for the best area in Manchester that is close to all the great nightlife and shopping, then Castlefield is the place you should look at.

Castlefield is the best for Manchester City Centre Living. It offers the best of both worlds. You have urban Manchester on your doorstep and the busy city centre a few minutes away.

To be honest, I don’t think there is any other area in Manchester like Castlefield. It has taken many years to get to where it is now. It is like the old meets the new with its cobbled streets to its luxurious modern living spaces.

Sale

Sale is a great place to live in Manchester and has previously been voted as one of the top five places to live in England.

A lot of people who work in the city centre of Manchester live in Sale due to its transport links. It is just three stops from the city centre on the Metrolink.

The house prices vary a great deal in Sale. On average you would pay £320,000 for a semi-detached house. You have different types of housing to choose from. You can purchase a modern apartment, an Edwardian detached property, or a Victorian property.

Sale has some great parks to enjoy and some amazing shops. It also has great entertainment venues, popular restaurants, and great pubs. Sale comes alive in the evenings and is a popular place for a night out.

It is a great area to live in Manchester, and if you keep your eyes open then you could pay a lot less than the average price for a property if you are prepared to take on a project.

Didsbury

Didsbury is a great place to live and has become popular with students. Some say Didsbury has become too popular with students while others believe it is overrun with students.

A lot of celebrities live in and have lived in Didsbury and even some football stars have made this popular Manchester area as their home.

With Didsbury being so popular, and one of the best areas in Manchester to live, it does mean that the prices of properties are a lot higher than in other areas of Manchester. With high property prices, a lot of people do rent instead of buying.

Didsbury is just a stone’s throw from Manchester city centre and is just four miles from Manchester Airport.

As well as having some great shops, it also has some good restaurants and pubs. I have spent many great nights in Didsbury.
