The Best Campsites in Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broads

Great Yarmouth Campsites A Great Way To Take A Holiday In Norfolk

I love Great Yarmouth in Norfolk. It is one of my favourite places to visit in the UK for a staycation. There are so many great things to do in Great Yarmouth and lots of great options when it comes to accommodation. From campsites in Great Yarmouth, guest houses, holiday parks, and hotels. However, not everyone wants to stay in a hotel, or at a Haven holiday park, or a Parkdean holiday park and that is why I put together a list of Great Yarmouth best campsites.

If you read my Staycations In The UK blog regularly, then you will know that I am a huge fan of caravan parks as they make staying in the UK more affordable for families. But another great way of making a holiday more affordable when visiting Norfolk is staying on one of the many camping sites Great Yarmouth has to offer.

Staying on one of the many Great Yarmouth camping sites is not just about saving money, there are so many great reasons why more people should go camping in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, or anywhere in the UK or around the world. Here are just some of them.

Reduced Stress.

Better Sleep.

Improved Mental Health.

Increased Physical Activity

Time to Focus

Sunshine & Fresh Air

The main reason why I like to go camping in Great Yarmouth is to spend more quality time with the family. When you go camping it provides greater happiness and improves the mind, as well as allowing you to be removed from any distractions such as mobile phones, televisions, and newspapers. There is something just magical in the summer when you stay on a Great Yarmouth campsite and the whole family pitch in.

Some Quick Tips Before Going On A Great Yarmouth Camping Holiday

If this is your first time going on a camping holiday in Great Yarmouth or anywhere else in the country, then please do get some expert advice. It is important that you visit a few camping shops and listen to their advice and look at the different tents available before making a purchase or booking your camping holiday.

  •    Buy a bigger tent than you think you’ll need
  •    Arrive during early daylight hours.
  •    Pack some microfiber cloths
  •    Always use a mallet for your tent pegs.
  •    Make sure you pack winter clothes as a backup.

The Best Great Yarmouth Campsites

Here are what I believe to be the best campsites Great Yarmouth has to offer. If you enjoy camping in Great Yarmouth and believe I have missed a site that deserves to be on my list as one of the best for camping in Great Yarmouth, then please do get in touch.

Caister On Sea Holiday Park (Haven Holidays)

campsites great yarmouth

Norfolk, NR30 5NQ

Distance from Great Yarmouth Pier: 12 minutes

Accepts: Motorhomes, Campervans, Caravans.

I have always been a fan of Haven Holiday Parks. Ok, they are not perfect, but they are one of the best. What does annoy me about Haven is they have not launched Wi-Fi around the park like other holiday companies have. And they seem to be removing tourist sections from some of their holiday parks and replacing them with static caravans.

For me, when it comes to all the campsites Great Yarmouth has to offer, this is the best. It is close to the sandy beach at Caister-on-Sea, and there are lots of things to do on-site as well as lots of things to do nearby.

You may be thinking why choose the Caister-on-Sea campsite as the best when they are lots of amazing Great Yarmouth campsites available? The simple answer is it offers value for money. You are getting a quality camping location and service at a low price, while at the same time getting all the benefits of the holiday park that those who stay in static caravans get.

Great Yarmouth Racecourse Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Best camping Great Yarmouth

Norfolk, NR30 4AU

Distance from Great Yarmouth Pier: 5 minutes

Accepts: Motorhomes, Campervans, Caravans, Tents.

Now, embarrassingly I only came across the Great Yarmouth Racecourse Caravan and Motorhome Club Site by accident. I was staying in Great Yarmouth Seashore holiday park when I saw a load of tents and motorhomes. Each time I drove to Seashore Holiday park I kept on seeing the tents at different times of the year, so I decided to investigate, and ended up staying there.

To be honest, I have never heard of a racecourse being home to a campsite before, but this is what happens at the Great Yarmouth Racecourse. It is a friendly campsite and offers value for money, and the location is great. It is just a stone’s throw from the beach and five minutes drive into Great Yarmouth.

When it comes to Great Yarmouth Camping, I think the Caravan and Motorhome Club need to make more people aware of this site.

Long Beach Caravan Park

Norfolk, NR29 4JD

Distance from Great Yarmouth Pier: 19 minutes

Accepts: Motorhomes, Campervans, Caravans, Tents.

If you are looking for an affordable campsite in Great Yarmouth that is a perfect location for Hemsby’s sandy beach, then Long Beach Caravan Park should be your first option.

The Long Beach Caravan Park offers a touring section which is located directly next to the sand. It is a very affordable Great Yarmouth camp site that offers a playground for children, a shop, and of course the most important thing, a bar.

It is one of the few Great Yarmouth camping sites that are independent and family-run. It is a short walk from the River Bure and a short drive to Great Yarmouth and Caister-on-Sea, providing a great setting.

There is a lovely café and shop onsite, and there are facilities nearby. You are still within an easy drive of the seaside of Great Yarmouth, while in the perfect rural setting.

Great Yarmouth is an amazing place to visit, and an even better place to go camping.

If you love camping, Great Yarmouth should be your first choice. There are lots of great family campsites in Great Yarmouth. It does not matter if you are looking for Great Yarmouth campsites that have lots of amenities for the whole family, or if you are looking for basic camping, Great Yarmouth has everything you need.
