There are lots of cafes in Covent Garden, which include cafes for vegetarians. If you have not had a chance to visit Covent Garden in London then you really must. It is a wonderful experience. There are lots of different shops available, and lots of great places to eat, and at the end of it, you can go to the theatre and watch a wonderful show.

So, if you are reading my best Covent Garden cafes, and you are visiting London and Covent Garden, then you are in for a treat. I have put together what I believe to be the cafes in Covent Garden, London. Please let me know if you agree.

The Best Covent Garden Cafes

Farmstand, Covent Garden

best coffee shops in covent garden

If you are looking for a Covent Garden café that offers a healthy lunch, then you need to visit Farmstand. The cute little café is located on Covent Garden’s Drury Lane and has a philosophy that all their food is free from refined sugars and fed naturally and treated humanely.

Farmstand does stand out, and I don’t mean as a café in Covent Garden. I am talking about their beliefs and how more café’s in the UK should follow their lead. With their food glutten, dairy, and GM-free, with their meat and vegetables coming from UK farms, you know you are receiving quality food each time.

As well as offering a great lunch option, the Drury Lane café also offers a delicious breakfast option. You can choose from multigrain porridge to dairy-free yoghurt or banana bread. Finishing off with an ethically sourced hot drink, you are all set for the day.

Address: 42 Drury Lane, WC2B 5AJ

Santa Nata, Covent Garden

covent garden best cafes

Santa Nata, which was named after the world-famous Pasteis de Nata, is located on Russell Street. The Covent Garden café is owned by a Portuguese family who is known for their fresh-baked products including creamy custard tarts.

The family who runs the Covent Garden bakery has been baking since 1900. As well as having a café on Russell Street, Covent Garden, London, they also have seven bakeries in Portugal.

What I like about the Santa Nata café that is open seven days a week is the glass frontage. It allows you to see the chefs at work doing their magic.

The Portuguese Bakery in Covent Garden which has achieved a five-star rating on Trip Advisor offers eat-in or take-away service. So, if you are in a rush you can still enjoy their wonderful fresh baked food.

Address. 17 Russell Street, Covent Garden, WC2B 5HP

Avobar, Covent Garden

cafes in covent garden

If you are looking for one of the best cafes in Covent Garden, then you must visit Avobar. The Bright cafe located at 24 Henrietta St, Covent Garden, London with its wood-clad wall & earthy vibe has brought a fresh new vibe to healthy eating.

The all-day dining option has some of the best vegetarian lunch options in London. Here is an example of what they offer to get your taste buds going. Avo toasts that is served with either sourdough or sweet potato ‘toast’, and toppings including smashed avo served with a homemade coconut labneh, beetroot hummus with feta, and many more. What is not to like.

The Covent Garden café gives you the option to eat in or to take the food away. If you are visiting Avobar then I can recommend the Avo Bun Burger.

Address: 24 Henrietta Street WC2E 8ND

Monmouth Coffee, Covent Garden, London

One of my friends who visits the London shopping and entertainment hub believes that Monmouth Coffee is Covent Garden best cafe. Although I would not say it is the best, I would say it is up there with one of the best.

Monmouth Coffee has been established since 1978, and during this time they have gained a reputation for providing some of the best coffee in London. As well as serving fresh coffee beans, they also serve some of the best cakes that you will ever taste.

Address: 32-34 Monmouth St, West End WC2H 9HA

Crème de la Crêpe, Covent Garden

Even the name of this Covent Garden coffee shop sounds enticing ‘Crème de la Crêpe’. The popular establishment is situated in the middle of Covent Garden’s busy market. It has become a favourite with those that lovely good quality food at reasonable prices.

The quaint café offers a variety of delicious treats, but one thing I would recommend is the Dirty Harry for Chorizo, which is cheddar cheese with sun-dried tomatoes and ranch dressing.

When you visit Crème de la Crêpe, it is like it has been the pride of Covent Garden for many years. However, the café in Covent Garden is not that old. Originally its life started as a market stall and then in October 2008, they made their move to the wonderful café it is today.

Address: 29 The Market The Piazza WC2E 8RE

Jacob the Angel, Covent Garden

With all the cafes Covent Garden has to offer, Jacob the Angel is not the biggest. This stylish little café has just 10 seats. Jacob the Angel which is among the colourful shops lining Neal’s Yard may be small, but it is still worth a visit.

The Covent Garden coffee shop offers an all-day menu, but if you want to sit in then I do suggest you get there early. The independent English coffee house serve toasts, pastries, seasonal salads, and of course, they serve hot and cold drinks.

As they say, depending on who you ask, size does not matter, and that is the case with Jacob the Angel.

Address: 16 ½ Neal’s Yard WC2H 9DP

The Black Penny, Covent Garden

The Black Penny is a Chic cafe located at 34 Great Queen Street, Covent Garden. It has exposed brick walls with wood panelling and lots of original features. For me, it is one of the best cafes in Covent Garden, London for the lovely food it provides and the trendy atmosphere.

The popular coffee shop is where many go for breakfast in Covent Garden. The full breakfast and lunch menu is cooked to perfection thanks to Head Chef George Notley. With its lovely menu, it is the perfect choice for any time of day.

The Covent Garden coffee bar and restaurant is popular with people who work nearby, tourists, and locals alike. If you are planning to visit London, then do head down to Covent Garden and you will understand what all the fuss is about.

Address: 34 Great Queen Street WC2B 5AA

Covent Garden Grind

If you have not visited the Covent Garden Grind, then why not? The Grind, which is located at 42 Maiden Lane, Covent Garden, WC2E 7LJ has become a popular feature in the best cafes Covent Garden has to offer.

The Grind is a fast-growing London based mini-chain. The Covent Garden café features a neon sign that replicates the legend David Bowie’s handwritten lyrics to ‘Heroes’. When I visit Covent Garden and want a nice coffee, this is the place I visit.

They roast their own coffee, and one of the things they are famous for is their Espresso Martinis. They truly are experts when it comes to coffee beans.

Address: 42 Maiden Lane, Covent Garden, WC2E 7LJ
