Cornwall’s Best Beaches
Where do you think the best beaches in Cornwall for families are?
I love Cornwall beaches and I love Cornwall. As a child, I had lots of great family holidays here and have so many magical memories. With its crystal blue waters, high cliffs, and stunning countryside, it is one of the best staycations in the UK.
4 million people visit Cornwall’s best beaches and tourist attractions with 1.5 million of them being international tourists. Tourism is vital to the local economy but sadly, a lot of local people are being pushed out of their local community due to rich people buying second homes in Cornwall and only using them a few times a year.
The Cornish coast has been described as the nearest you can get to heaven without leaving planet earth. Cornwall is not just a popular place for people to retire to, but it is also a popular place for romantic holidays and proposals.
Cornwall beaches have been heavily featured on TV in shows such as Saving Lives At Sea, Cornwall and Devon Walks with Julia Bradbury and Poldark. TV producers often choose some of the best beaches in Cornwall for their stunning backdrop and clear waters.
Where is the clearest water in Cornwall?
A lot of people who visit the popular UK staycation resort want to know which Cornwall beaches have the clearest water. The answer is the beaches that have the clearest water are around Land’s End. That includes Sennen Cove, Porthcurno, Nanjizal, and Pedn Vounder.
Cornwall beaches are known to be some of the best in the country, for me they are the best. It is not just about sunbathing and chilling out, there are also lots of great water sports that take place throughout the year which includes paddleboarding.

Polzeath Beach, Polzeath

There is no doubt in my mind that this is the best beach in Cornwall. Polzeath Beach has it all. For the locals and water sports fans, it is the ultimate Cornish surfing beach. The golden sand, clear water, and the lovely little cafes and bars around the beach make it a great choice for everyone from sunbathers to water sports fans.
The views from Polzeath Beach are amazing, and if you get a chance, don’t miss the show-stopping sunset. It is truly one of the best Cornwall beaches. And, if you are planning to propose, then I would suggest doing it here.

Perranporth Beach
Another great beach in Cornwall is Perranporth Beach. It is another great Cornish beach that has soft golden sands, and crystal blue waters. It is like being abroad without the hassle of jumping on a plane. I just wished all the beaches in the UK were like Cornwall beaches.
When considering which is the best beach in Cornwall, it was hard to choose between Perranporth Beach and Polzeath Beach, but Polzeath Beach just managed in my opinion to be Cornwall’s best beach.
Perranporth Beach with its crashing waves is a surfer’s paradise. It is also popular with sailors, snorkelers, and families. It is also considered to be the best place in the UK for paragliding.
In the summer Perranporth Beach has a full lifeguard cover. There is also a car park, and for dog owners, it is dog friendly.
Watergate Bay

Cornwall beaches are the envy of the rest of the country, and when you look at Watergate Bay, you can understand why. It is located between Newquay and Padstow and comes alive during the summer months.
Watergate Bay which is home to the Boardmasters Festival attracts surfers, paddleboarders, and other types of water sports. There is a designated swimming area at Watergate Bay that is manned by lifeguards during the summer season. On the beachfront there are cafes and restaurants, making it one of the best beaches in Cornwall for families.

Porthminster Beach
When you visit Porthminster Beach it’s like going to a beach in the Caribbean. The beach has a lovely backdrop of trees. The Blue Flag beach has soft golden sands and clear water that enhances the experience of being on a beach abroad.
Disabled people in Wheelchairs have said Porthminster Beach is Cornwall’s best beach due to it having wheelchair access. This is something I would like to see all beaches have. Lots of beaches abroad like in Spain have wheelchair access, but the UK is lacking behind.
During the summer months like most beaches in Cornwall, the Porthminster Beach has lifeguard cover. There is so much to do here. There is an array of water sports that include paddle boarding and surfing.
On the beachfront, there is a mini-golf course that the whole family will love. There is also a car park here and it is dog friendly.

The Porthcurno Beach is one of the most romantic beaches in Cornwall, and a perfect beach to relax with the whole family.
Like most beaches in Cornwall, the Porthcurno Beach has lifeguards during the summer months, and there are designated safe swimming zones.
Although it is a dog-friendly beach, dogs are not allowed on the Cornwall beach between 1st July and 31st August. There is a car park available.
