Lovers of Inns will love the Old Ferry Inn in Bodinnick, Cornwall, which overlooks the former home of author Daphne du Maurier. The location that has been described as one of the best in the UK and the world, the Inn which has been serving people since around 1600 has become one of the most written about in recent years. There has been a ferry on the east bank of the Fowey River since the 13th century which takes people on the five-minute crossing.

In 2021 the Old Ferry Inn was sold for over one million pounds. Jenny and Mike West and Paul Worswick became the new owners of the historic pub and said at the same of the sale that they planned a mini refurbishment. What they have done, is to transform the Old Ferry Inn which features three terraced areas with stunning river views towards Fowey into a magical place that attracts people far and wide.
One of the things that I loved about our Old Ferry Inn review is their love of dogs. As a dog owner of two small dogs, one of the biggest problems I have is trying to find a pub that allows pets. Thankfully the Old Ferry Inn allows dogs. So, while you are enjoying your pint and the wonderful food and the amazing views, dogs can also enjoy the warmth of the friendly Inn.
The food served at the Old Ferry Inn is out of this world and what I love about the ingredients used is it comes from local suppliers. Nothing that is used to make the delicious offerings comes from more than 20 miles away.
My favourite meal of the week is a Sunday lunch. However, in my opinion, it is very hard to find a good pub that can make a Sunday Lunch like your wife or your mum. Either the potatoes are too hard, or the gravy is too thick, or the vegetables are very hard and the meat is either undercooked or you don’t know if to eat it or fight it. During my Old Ferry Inn review I was shocked. The Old Ferry Inn Sunday Lunch is just as good as your loved one makes and even better, but don’t tell your wife or your mother that.
The Old Ferry Inn accommodation has been refurbished. All the original features that people who have stayed at the popular Inn love are still there. The bedrooms overlooking the river have been modernised. Since the refurbishment, the Old Ferry Inn accommodation continues to receive five-star reviews.

There are rooms to suit all budgets. There are choices of King Size, twins, or junior suites. I personally would suggest you go for the junior suites. The team at The Old Ferry Inn pamper you like not many places do. There is everything you need for a comfy stay, and you don’t have to worry about your mobile devices. They have USB ports on both bedside plugs which I really love.
VERDICT: I really loved my time doing the Old Ferry Review. It is well loved by locals and tourists alike. The Old Ferry Inn is a gem. It is a must-visit Inn for those people visiting Cornwall. With the historic charm and stunning views, it makes the perfect location for a date night or even a romantic weekend away.
